My first novel, Earth is one in a series of four (Earth, Air, Fire, Water).
All four novels explore the theme of how to live in a world on the edge of ecological ruin. In Earth, the protagonist has sudden apocalyptic visions. Air flows into her travels through Asia, where she lives floating above the culture, disconnected from her roots. Fire chronicles a collapse of ego in London. And Water leads through a rain-soaked healing in the Pacific Northwest.
To work on Earth, I wrote the first draft in a fishing village called Tofino on Canada's West Coast. For the next draft, I found myself in south London, and for the final, I worked out of a gutted mansion in Budapest.
Earth is currently being sent out to publishers.
Air, the second in the series, is in progress.
